The SKF Steering Encoder Unit contains two independent sensor channels, electrically separated and can be used in steer-by-wire system up to performance level Pl = d (ISO 13849). The non-contact sensors produce two incremental signal pairs to precisely monitor steering direction and speed. The maintenance free unit provide a constant torque for the steering feeling and is a plug and play solution which reliably fulfils the demands of industrial and off-highway steer-by-wire.
